DALLAS, TX – Safeguard Forms & Systems, Inc., a Safeguard distributor business based in Columbus, Ga., has successfully completed the acquisition of Safeguard Printing & Promotional Products, a Safeguard distributor located in Kenner, La. Safeguard Forms & Systems owner Rick Stallings acquired the Louisiana-based company to help expand his print and promotional products enterprise into the greater New Orleans area.
“We have embraced technology and solidified our already strong infrastructure, and we’ll be using that streamlined approach to take the Kenner office to the next level,” said Stallings. “This location has an outstanding staff and has been extremely well-run, so I know we’re acquiring a quality business that will promote the growth of Safeguard throughout the area.”
More than a decade ago, with the support of Safeguard’s award-winning Business Acquisitions and Mergers (BAM) team, Stallings began acquiring other Safeguard distributor businesses as well as independent competitors throughout the Southeast. As a result, Stallings now owns, operates and manages businesses located in Georgia, Texas, Tennessee, Florida and now Louisiana.
“Given the high level of purchasing and negotiating power Safeguard has, the numbers of products and services available to distributors to enhance our businesses continues to grow each year,” said Stallings. “This acquisition pushes us to the forefront of the print and promotional industry in New Orleans and expands our capabilities exponentially.”
Stallings purchased the Kenner office from fellow longtime Safeguard distributor Kathleen Wilkin, who has been with the Safeguard brand since 1993. Strong relationships with current customers and her love of the business she grew from the ground up resulted in Wilkin deciding to remain a part of the Safeguard family, even after the acquisition.
“I have long respected Rick and know him to be an excellent business person,” said Wilkin. “I trust that Safeguard Printing in Kenner is in great hands and I look forward to working with him to continue the growth and progression of this great brand throughout Louisiana.”
The acquisition was supported by Safeguard’s BAM team, which focuses its efforts on providing opportunities for existing and new Safeguard distributors to grow their businesses through acquisition and merger transactions.
“We’re passionate about helping support the kinds of transactions that help both buyers and sellers achieve their dreams and provide even more value to the customer,” said R. Scott Sutton, Safeguard’s leader of the BAM team and its vice president of franchise development. “Rick has been looking to grow through the acquisition of best-in-class businesses and Kathleen has taken great care to make sure she sells to the right buyer. This transaction is a win-win for all involved and we could not be happier to see each party achieve their business goals.”
