Safeguard to Help Boost Local Business Marketing Opportunities with New Signing in Winnipeg

November 18, 2016

WINNIPEG, Man. – Safeguard, the growth-oriented business products and marketing services provider, announced the signing of Winnipeg, Manitoba native Kelly Knight to its distributorship. Knight has worked to establish himself as one of Manitoba’s premier promotions and advertising professionals since 1998. In 2008, Knight branched off to form his own promotions business, KayCee Promotions and Design, helping hundreds of Winnipeg area businesses to allocate their resources to promote their products and services more effectively.

“This is a tremendous opportunity for me and for my company,” Knight said. “I was looking to become a part of a business like Safeguard because I needed assistance connecting to suppliers that could help local businesses grow, and provide customers with financial support and customer service. That’s exactly the type of care and personal service that Safeguard provides.”

Knight is a lifelong Winnipeg resident, who got his start in the promotions industry in 1998. Nearly a decade later, the company Knight was a part of went out of business and it forced him to find an alternative. So, he chose to become an entrepreneur and start his own business. Joining Safeguard allows Knight to reach the next level and provide even more support to customers.

“Safeguard has bigger and better buying power,” Knight said. “They have more access to name-brand retailers and other product lines. If you don’t have the finances in this industry, your growth potential is limited. Businesses in Winnipeg are always looking for new and innovative ways to grow, and Safeguard provides that path.”

In addition to his work for Winnipeg businesses, Knight is also devoted to giving back to the community he calls home. He has sponsored the annual Tim Horton’s Charity Golf Tournament in Winnipeg five of the last six years. Knight has also collaborated with the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Manitoba, providing gift items for the hospital’s annual Teddy Bears’ Picnic event in an effort to bring awareness to child health and safety issues.

“Kelly has both the business acumen and dedication to his community that make him the perfect person to join the Safeguard system,” said Kevin Derella, Executive Director of Franchise Development for Safeguard. “Since signing with Safeguard, Kelly has already been hard at work enhancing the scope of services that KayCee Promotions and Design by Safeguard now offers to Manitoba businesses.”

By expanding his homegrown business with Safeguard, Knight will help equip Manitoba businesses with premier promotional materials designed to enhance their products and services. Knight’s local expertise perfectly compliment Safeguard’s access to name-brand retailers and will help push the brand to the forefront of the print and promotional industry in Manitoba.

“Our desire is to be a resource the distributors can trust,” said R. Scott Sutton, Vice President of Franchise Development for Safeguard. “We are focused on driving growth by helping all of our distributors grow, and we couldn’t be more proud to add Kelly Knight and KayCee Promotions and Design by Safeguard to the list of trusted distributors in our network.”
