Safeguard Business Systems Successfully Completes the Divestiture of Four Midwest Businesses to New Distributor

Industry-Leading Business Solutions Provider Bolsters Local Ties Through its Latest Transactions

DALLAS, TX – Safeguard Business Systems, the provider of products, services and expertise designed to help businesses across North America grow, has completed the sale of four Safeguard-owned businesses to Oshkosh, Wisconsin-based new distributor Emily Paulick.

Paulick has been a part of the Safeguard network for nearly eight years in several different capacities. She started her career with the company working part-time at the Oshkosh Safeguard distributorship, and as she rose through the ranks, she fell in love with the industry and eventually managed the business five years later. After a successful run as manager, the mother of four was ready to take the next steps to ownership.

“I’ve been running the Safeguard business on my own for nearly three years, so when the opportunity to own it presented itself, it was an easy decision,” said Paulick. “The products and services we provide are unique and the customers are great, so I find it rewarding to be able to interact with them and hear their feedback directly. There’s no better feeling than providing superior customer service and having people tell you not only that they love working with you, but that they’re coming back specifically to work with you.”

Born less than two miles from her current home in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Paulick grew up working in her grandfather’s butcher shop, Shapers Sausage Company. She committed to the family business full-time after high school, eventually picking up two additional part-time jobs, the first at a local candy company and the second at Safeguard. After the sausage company closed, Paulick received a degree in accounting and returned to work at Safeguard full-time. She credits the original female owner she worked for to piquing her interest and laying out the blueprint for success in the Safeguard system. When Safeguard decided to sell the business Paulick was a natural pick to be the new owner manager.

Balancing the full-time job that is motherhood on top of running a business isn’t an easy feat, but with the support of her family and the Safeguard network, Paulick has found success in both arenas. Safeguard’s business model has given her an opportunity to both provide for her family and become a successful female business owner.

“I’m young, driven and have a growing family,” Paulick said. “I answer every phone call and email while simultaneously making sure that my family gets where they need to be on time. My business covers more than half of the state of Wisconsin and additional areas in Illinois and Ohio, yet Safeguard ships products all over the country.”

With an array of clients across the nation that includes farmers as well as accountants, Paulick is confident and eager to continue growing her Safeguard distributorships for years to come.
